THE FENDI SET: From Bloomsbury to Borghese

This movement brought creatives from all corners together, including painters Vanessa Bell, Duncan Grant, Roger Fry, and the writers Clive Bell and Virginia Woolf. Fendi’s creative director Kim Jones became thoroughly enamored with this movement and the fervor of the women artists it involved, as he was brought up in the South of England, where he nearly bumped shoulders with the Bloomsbury family.

THE FENDI SET is situated within the scenic landscape of the South of England as well. It tells the story of the Bloomsbury family and the artists that found solace in that community alongside the story of the emergence of Fendi, as the brand rose to prominence in 1925 — at about the same time that the Bloomsbury artists began to gain recognition themselves.

“FENDI is of course a family and a dynasty. It is a family of creative collaborators, with both Silvia Venturini Fendi and her daughter Delfina Delettrez Fendi working closely within the house. It is important when you work somewhere to understand the artistic heritage,” says Kim Jones.

Jones collaborated with internationally acclaimed photographer and documentarian, Nikolai von Bismarck, to create THE FENDI SET, manifesting scenes that are just as rich and awe-inspiring as those of the Victorian Era. The book includes real letters and journal entries written by the Bloomsbury Group along with Bismarck’s shots of Italian architecture and silhouettes of some familiar faces, including Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, and Cara Delevigne.

THE FENDI SET: From Bloomsbury to Borghese is an immersive literary experience that teaches the importance of heritage and above all, the utmost importance of the arts. The book set will be distributed by Rizzoli New York Publishers in April of 2022.
