Gone Campin'

The collection is divided in three design "stories": the AW essentials, the photocopy pieces and those described above, aka the disjoin. The photocopy looks join Alexander Wang with adidas football jerseys; the AW essentials feature classic silhouettes made from mixed Wang and adidas fabrics; and the disjoin section—our favorite—uses velour, jersey and nylon to recreate the legendary adidas logo in a way that's totally cool—and totally Alexander Wang.

As for the shoes, the designer combined his "AW Skate Super" with the adidas Superstar, and dropped all new colorways in the "AW BBall" and "Turnout Trainer." But the pièces de résistance are definitely the "AW Puff Trainer" and "AW Futureshell," the latter of which made its debut on the S/S '19 runway and combines "'00s-era basketball materials with a '90s-style silhouette."

For the campaign, Wang sent his longtime muse Anna Ewers on a mock camping trip, shot by Brianna Capozzi and styled by Haley Wollens. But because the model couldn't use just any tent or fishing pole—the designer created camping gear from the leftover fabrics of his collection. How eco-friendly! Maybe we'll see adidas Originals by Alexander Wang tents next. Fingers crossed, at least.

Though you won't be able to cop the collection until later this week, you can peep the campaign, below.

adidas Originals by Alexander Wang will be available November 14 in select stores, via the adidas Originals website and on alexanderwang.com.
