Gucci Takes Over the Boulevard

Guests found themselves seated in personalized director chairs in signature Gucci canvas, yet another nod to the Hollywood ethos of it all. This show was a statement for Michele, who, since COVID, has taken a considerable step back from the traditional four-city fashion calendar. Instead of churning out products for fall and spring, summer and winter, Michele has begun to opt for larger, more all-encompassing collections. Larger scale affairs like his “Guccifest,” the mini film festival, have replaced traditional fashion shows for him. The Gucci Love Parade is no different.

His clothes have always lived on the fine line between classic and costume, a comfortable realm for Michele and now an iconic signature for the brand itself. Striving for a more is more maximalist attitude, he is constantly striving to reexamine classic silhouettes, fabrics, and accessories, bringing classic old Hollywood glamour into the 21st century.

Some may ask, why Hollywood Boulevard, Michele asked, why not? In an era where any slight movement in life can become sensationalized thanks to social media, Michele felt it only fitting that his collection is debuted on one of the most iconic boulevards in the world. Gucci is for the person who gets dressed up to go pump gas. Gucci is for those not afraid to pair gym shorts with a killer pair of boots and an opulent fur. Gucci is for those who make every day, every moment, and every city street their stage.
