Years ago, he had us tantalized with his debut mixtape Nostalgia, Ultra — which landed him a major record deal due to his visceral songwriting ability and smooth-as-butter vocals. Many more mesmerizing tracks soon followed, along with one of the most applauded albums of 2012, Channel Orange. He provided us one more album and a collection of singles (that still gets played on repeat to this day) before deciding to venture into some additional creative avenues, such as photography, modeling, fashion — and now: luxury jewelry. And who exactly is the man of the hour, you ask? It would only be fitting that his introduction is just as mysterious as his persona: Frank Ocean.

The elusive star changed the way many artists and listeners view music, and now he is expanding the scope of his talents by founding a new independent American luxury company titled 'Homer.' The name "Homer" represents carving history into stone, and if this project follows suit with any of his other endeavors, it’ll surely be historic.

The first collection by Homer comprises fine jewelry pieces — crafted from 18K gold, recycled sterling silver, hand-painted enamel, and American lab-grown diamonds — as well as printed silk scarves. The inspiration that lies beneath these designs are “childhood obsessions” and “heritage as a fantasy”. All products are designed by Homer in New York City and handmade in Italy.

The store, which Ocean designed in collaboration with New York-based architects Michael Abel and Nile Greenberg, is the only place where the collection can be shopped. It is located at 70-74 Bowery, New York, NY, and as of August 9th, store appointments can be booked at www.homer.com; occasional walk-ins may also be available.

Highlights from the collection include a reworked MA-1 bomber crafted from translucent windproof ripstop and a pair of exaggerated wide shorts, finished with laser-cut edges. Core wardrobe pieces such as tanks, tees, and fitted shorts are elevated with graphic elements that nod to MM6’s irreverent spirit; oversized logos, safety-pin inspired tags, and playful xerox-style sneaker prints. Footwear takes center stage with the return of the XT-4 Mule sneakers in two seasonal colorways and the introduction of Salomon’s Spectur 2 road shoe.
