What is your ideal office?

A black velvet couch, some palo santo, towering plants, NBA 2K, and a deliverable Seamless address. Peak productivity happens when it’s balanced with distractions and food.

What is an object that has made a remarkable impression on you?

It’s always special when I’m holding an object I conceived from scratch, good or bad.

What is an idea of yours that failed?

Saving money.

Can you describe the last dream you had?

I was trapped in an escape room with Larry David. Instead of trying to leave, he was lamenting his relationships with everyone outside of it and decided to stay.

What technology excites you the most?

Planet-saving technology.

What is the last piece of art that affected you emotionally?

Negro Swan by Dev [Hynes] was a big mood. The jewelry my friend Martine Ali makes. Everything Bráulio Amado does. These things make me happy.

What is the most interesting thing in your trash can?

NYC dating.

What grosses you out?

Pettiness, racism, Trump, gluten-free bread, EDM, running to catch transportation, fitted clothes, “Florida Man,” street art, delivery minimums, musical theater, lines, cash only, “take me back” posts, making plans.

What words make your heart beat faster?

Knicks up by 1 / Knicks down by 35.

Do you have any rituals?

Linking with my friend Aaron at the bar Clandestino. Exchanging memes with my sister Allie. Using Hawthorne. Using this workout app before I start the day. Palo santo. Iced matcha. Paying for cable to watch the Knicks lose. Going out with friends. Mezcal. Leaving early, leaving late. NY Noodletown. Pretending I’m going to read before I sleep.

What is the magic word?

Uni.

What is your preferred mode of transportation?

I usually walk a lot because my office is pretty close to my apartment now. I love the spontaneity of the people and energy you might run into. Some days it feels like divine intervention.

When was the last time you celebrated?

We recently launched a new scent for Hawthorne in collaboration with my friend, the musician Porches. We threw a concert at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn and made some merch for it. He brought me on stage for the song he made and we danced a bit. I should’ve crowd-surfed though.

Moonlight or sunlight?

Moonlight always. I’ve always felt foreign and incongruous to the sunlight. It’s so needy and all-consuming. There’s room to breathe in the moonlight, freedom, feelings, your own light. Real hours.

When was the last time you gasped?

Playboi Carti’s Die Lit.

What is your favorite letter of the alphabet?

I always loved the underbelly of the alphabet, the WXYZs. They’re kind of this little troupe of misfits who also solidify and complete the group. Without them there’s no conclusion, there’s nothing.

How might you like to be reincarnated?

Probably as an alien. I romanticize space travel a lot. That, or I just imagine the Hans Zimmer Interstellar soundtrack playing on loop, which I’m down with.
