Interview

What is your ideal office?

A bean bag and a laptop and a Duck Hunt arcade game.

What is your most treasured belonging?

Vintage Chanel earrings that my mother gave me.

How would you like to be remembered?

As someone who went against the grain and did whatever I wanted.

What grosses you out?

Weird textured foods.

What does it mean to be a “personality?”

I think being a personality means being the person most people are afraid to be in public.

How did you end up working in fashion?

I ended up working in fashion by having strong opinions and not giving a fuck about what was the trend or what was cool.

Have you ever committed a fashion faux pas?

Not really. I’ve never been embarrassed by anything I’ve worn because it’s usually dependent on my mood. If I looked like a dumbass, I probably felt like one.

Why is it important to support emerging creative talent?

It’s important to give emerging creatives a platform and an outlet because it keeps the creativity evolving and encourages others.

How do you decide what to wear every morning?

I listen to a song that fits my mood and I usually end up looking like I’m in the video.

What city do you call home?

Manchester, Jamaica.

How do you differentiate between what’s hype and what’s legitimately cool?

What is hype was actually cool at some point—once it becomes a uniform it’s no longer cool. Individuality is cool, not conformity.

Who is your dream date?

Dez Bryant.

What is an unexpected source of inspiration for you?

The homeless.
