Vault by Vans x Noah: The Caballero

You're favorite skate-adjacent brands, Vault by Vans and Noah, both known for comfort and mobility with style in mind come together. And the duo sticks to that sentiment, the comfort-joined collab has merged forces for a Fall 2021 release, proposing a five-shoe collection with two versions of the Caballero VLT LX and three iterations of the Authentic One Piece VLT LX.

With a hefty history, the Caballero was birthed in 1989 and named after iconic skateboarder Steve Caballero who replicated the look of the collar height with scissors and tape. Today, the sneaker has been advanced perfectly capturing the essence of both labels, especially taking the preppy skater vibe that Noah presents in a recreation of a linear collar height on the shoe.

Vault by Vans and Noah have donned Caballero’s signature sneaker up in a crisp colors, exploring earthy-toned color palettes. To embellish upon the color palette, both silhouettes will feature premium hairy suede uppers, original Caballero dragon branding on the lateral quarter, and an imprinted Noah logo on the lateral heel counter, which also can be found on the insole, tongue, and rubber stamp on the rear.

The Vault by Vans x Noah Caballero VLT LX and Authentic One Piece VLT LX is available now at noahny.com and Noah’s New York store at 195 Mulberry.

The Caballero VLT LX is priced at $98, and the Authentic One Piece VLT LX is priced at $88.

In the wake of significant challenges including the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian war which has heavily impacted production and logistics, Syndicate continues to innovate by integrating themes of survival, resilience, and the complex emotions involved in modern relationships. The collection features bold, thematic elements such as textual prints derived from real-life break-up phrases embodying the irony and emotional depth of contemporary dating narratives.

Some of the collection prints were created in collaboration with Magalie Heroux — a London-based graphic designer, the "Dating Olympics" collection employs a mix of early 2000s aesthetics with simple, impactful fonts and ironic slogans, capturing a nostalgic yet fresh vibe. The use of heat-reactive techniques further enriches the tactile experience, emphasising the warmth and connection that are essential to human interaction.
