All-around best product?
For my texture of hair, I like Intelligent Nutrients the best.
A night out, a day at the beach, at the office. Pick one for each.
Night out: 'Intelligent Nutrients'. Beach: 'Natulique'. Office: 'Rahua'.
Choose an animal to represent each brand and explain.
'Natulique' is a tropical bird because it has a very light, feathery feeling to the spray and brand. 'Rahua' is a butterfly because of the gold branding and because it says rainforest-grown - I just imagine a beautiful colorful butterfly. 'Intelligent Nutrients' is a panther because of the sleek dark branding of the bottle.
Most stylish bottle?
'Rahua'
If you were in a beauty pageant, which one would you use for the craziest updo?
Definitely 'Intelligent Nutrients.'
Which one would you spray on your toast and why?
'Intelligent Nutrients' because it looks the most like jam and has the best edible sent.
Best thing about each product?
I love how they are all so organic and natural. They all are appealing to the eye.
One thing you could change about each product?
I like hairspray to have a little more tough hold to really solidify a style. I think 'Rahua' and 'Intelligent Nutrients' could have better sprayers so the hairspray distributed more evenly on hair.
Would you recommend these products to a friend?
It depends on the friend. In my opinion, these products seem to be more idealistic for people with thin, silky hair that don’t need much product. As a mixed African American woman, I don’t think I would recommend it to other black or brown women who need a hairspray that really holds unruly locks in place.
What’s one activity or place you’d go after using each product?
To the bedroom to fuck. So that sex hair be bangin' after!
Do you use hairspray regularly? If so, would you consider using one of these products as your go-to? If not, do any of these products make you consider doing so?
I use more gel than hairspray, but when I do use hairspray, I like to use something with a firm hold. However, I do like how natural these products are. I would be interested to see them work on a relaxed style of curls, sprayed on after already-applied products to give that extra hold and body.

All-around best product?
'Natulique' is my favorite. It's easy to use and holds up.
A night out, a day at the beach, at the office. Pick one for each.
'Natulique' for a night out, 'Intelligent Nutrients' for a day at the beach and 'Natulique' again for the office.
Choose an animal to represent each brand and explain.
'Natulique' is like an elephant: gentle, but significant. 'Intelligent Nutrients' is like a jaguar - it's cool, but a bit hard to handle. 'Rahua' is fancy like a peacock.
Most stylish bottle?
'Rahua' is so pretty!
If you were in a beauty pageant, which one would you use for the craziest updo?
'Natulique'!
Which one would you spray on your toast and why?
None because I don't wanna die.
Best thing about each product?
'Natulique' is easiest to use and yields a good result, 'Intelligent Nutrients' seems cool and professional, and 'Rahua' has great ingredients and fancy packaging.
One thing you would change about each product?
I think they are all effective in their own way.
Would you recommend these products to a friend? If so, why? If not, why?
I would because it's always fun and appreciated to share beauty products or tricks.
What’s one activity or place you’d go after using each product?
I’d go to work in 'Natulique', a dark-lit bar with 'Intelligent Nutrients', and go to the beach with 'Rahua'.
Do you use hairspray regularly? If so, would you consider using one of these products as your go-to? If not, do any of these products make you consider doing so?
I don't wear hairspray regularly, but I’d probably buy 'Rahua' just cuz it looks nice and I'm a sucker for nice packaging.

What was the concept behind the shoot?
It was about showing emotions and moods through facial expressions whilst adding humour. We wanted to add an element of nostalgia as if Vanessa was in a carefree environment as in a photo booth.
How does makeup correlate with mood?
The makeup is expressive and erratic, which links with the variations in Vanessa’s expressions.
What drew you to Vanessa Ohenlen as a model?
I chose Vanessa because not only is she a great model, she also has great acting skills and can almost become a different character with a simple change in her face, which is what we were hoping for with our concept.
What was the most unconventional product you used?
I would say the paint sticks, I applied them on the eye to create an unconventional paint effect.
What’s the relationship between makeup and transformation?
Makeup is a powerful tool that can create a character and express a mood or feeling — makeup has the ability to tell a story within a single image.
This shoot composes camouflaged creations that emulate painterly lines, shapes, smudges and grids, utilizing color and glitter to radiate an abstract and otherworldly aura. This particular aesthetic approach references a new era of free-flow medium mixing, a technique much akin to the strokes of an Impressionist painting. Makeup artist Linda Anderson masterfully creates whimsical, painteresque looks to complement each model’s face.
Jori plays with texture through line and composition, detailing the hair as well as the natural canvas of skin, abstracting the movement of his subjects with his up-close and crop-heavy portrait style. All in all, this series adds a new layer of depth and complexity to the male aesthetic identity in a manner that is cosmic and ethereal.
