Cynthia Erivo x Mulberry The Roxanne
Mulberry expands the universe of this Y2K staple, adding in four new iterations of the iconic piece, including the Roxanne and the Small Roxanne (both adjustable), and the Roxanne Shoulder Bag and Mini Roxanne Shoulder Bag. Featured on the front are two oversized pockets with brass buckles. The many compartments function by adding utility, but also by enabling the owner to engage with the world maximally.
The style suggests that there is space in one’s life for collecting new items, carrying old ones, overpacking, and still looking put-together. The Roxanne’s design is a cornerstone of versatility, maintaining a distinct sense of self while being adjustable so that wearers can oscillate between over-the-shoulder and crossbody as needed. This attention to flexibility is essential to the personality of modern-day fashionistas like Erivo, who are always on the go.

Adding to the narration of a chic and cultured style of this release, Mulberry collaborated with photographer Tim Walker, stylist Kate Phelan, and journalist Recho Omondi, to produce eight intimate short films starring Erivo. The Oscar-nominated talent opens up about her reflections on the visual and auditory worlds she finds herself occupying— those of fashion, film, music, and more. She recalls longing for a Mullbery bag in her days as a young girl, and talks about the “romantic and rebellious spirit” that defines the accessory.
