Eternal Peep Show
Since she started her career, Gogo Graham has made huge efforts to incorporate trans people into the fashion industry—a much needed initiative we wish all brands would adopt. And as the label continues to push for inclusivity and showcase the absurdity of societal pressures like marriage and gender constructs, we couldn’t help but notice the religious undertones and ultimate theme of heartbreak within the show. Presenting something as conventional (and as notoriously celebrated) as a bride in her wedding dress, but putting a darker spin on it, shows the perhaps more sinister sides of marriage, and rebels against tradition altogether—a recurring theme in the subversive Gogo Graham ethos. As the designer put it, the collection showed pieces in which people could be "married or buried." Enough said.
