Greater Land

June 02, 2018

The correlation between mental and physical, mind and body, interior and exterior, how we feel and how we present ourselves to the world, is an inherently human in nature.

The success of Nike is in no small part due to a deep understanding of this quality. In the same manner as aesthetic choices such as color, length, fabric, etc. can communicate the inner nature of the wearer to the beholder, something as minimal as a sneaker can communicate spirit and essence. This shoot captures, in both form and content, precisely how a sneaker can transcend the realm footwear to become something profoundly human.

Adidas Originals x Pharrell Williams = Tennis Hu

May 04, 2017

Pharell has an innate ability to both construct and tell a story, and after last year's collaboration with Adidas and the "Hu" collection, the songwriter and iconic shoe brand are back with the Tennis Hu.

Constructed using flexible Primeknit, and featuring a lightweight EVA midsole and a suede tab with the Adidas Originals insignia, the Tennis Hu borrows components from a modern, lightweight runner and casts them on a casual tennis model.

As is characteristic of Pharrell through his history of brand collaborations, the storytelling and strong narrative doesn't stop there. With colorways based off of two of Adidas' most iconic models, the Stan Smith and 1970's court classic the Forest Hill, the Tennis Hu is infused with the singer's rich experiences from traveling to all corners of the world this past year. All the best collaborative sneakers come with a story.

The Tennis Hu will be available at adidas retail stores, e-commerce and select retail partners starting May 6. The shoes retail at $130.
