JW Anderson MS21 + WRE21

Due to the conditions of the world, Britain based designer JW Anderson worked with the extremely limited resources available. The MenswearS21 collection is meant to be playful celebration while focusing upon what being restricted can mean and create.

The collection is presented on enlarged young male fictional characters, used to create this idea of pragmatism and playfulness. With dresses, capes, sweaters, cropped trousers, elongated jumpers and loafer mules, the brand reiterates its essence and DNA. From the pompoms on a plain sleeveless jumper, a patchwork denim coat made of faded denim, military capes with excess of buttons, and a patchwork safari jacket and capes, the MS21 collection stays true to JW Anderson’s unconventional and creative nature.

The collection features printing on knits and fabrics such as targets, flowers, and stripes which provide a youthful feeling of sparked creativity.

The colorful masks, created by Bertjan Pot, provide a mysterious, totemic presence that’s felt throughout the Women's ResortS21 collection. JW Anderson’s overall idea for the collection was how a sense of fluid elongation counterbalances the neatness of sharp tailoring.

Billowing dresses have handkerchief hems, built-in scarves, double panels that create flow and movement, or are fashioned from a patchwork of different fabrics and prints. Voluminous trousers gathered at the hem are worn with oversized sleeve shirts to provide an interesting silhouette. Patchworked coats and safari jackets are seen with cropped culottes that feature emblazoned outsized patch pockets.

All of these elements are the essence of JW Anderson, and this collection made of limited resources shows how creativity can peek through even during the roughest of times.

Dr. Martens x MM6 Maison Margiela reveal their first capsule collection

Dr. Martens and MM6 Maison Margiela have teamed up for the first time to launch a Fall/Winter capsule collection that reinvents classic footwear with a fresh twist. The collection combines four iconic Dr. Martens styles—the 1460 and 1490 boots, the 1461 shoe, and the Penton loafer—into three unique hybrid designs, each with MM6’s special touch.

Revealed at MM6 Maison Margiela’s AW24 show, these designs mix familiar Dr. Martens silhouettes in surprising ways, adding bold new details. Each piece has Dr. Martens’ signature yellow stitching and AirWair heel loop, along with MM6’s unique numbered imprint.

The Dr. Martens x MM6 Maison Margiela collection launches November 19 on both brands’ websites, in select MM6 stores, and at limited retailers.
