Loewe Illuminates the Art of Doing More With Less

At Paris Fashion Week, Loewe did much more with less. The Spanish fashion house presented its FW23 Women’s collection at the Château de Vincennes on Friday, featuring bright confetti cubes sprawled on a white runway for models to parade past. Installed by Italian artist Lara Favaretto, the cubes collapsed into puddles of primary color with every passing look to underscore the show’s central theme: transience.

Like the puddles of confetti, all things must pass. Fashion is certainly no exception to this rule, with brands racing to produce seasons well in advance. Loewe weighed in on this idea through blurred images that were printed on white duchesse dresses, nodding to fashion’s fleeting nature. Other hints of passing included collapsing boots and slouchy bags, paying homage to the house’s beginnings in leather goods. Dovetailing with the fall/winter men’s collection, each look paid heed to the singularity of a silhouette as an embrace of reductionism. By reducing garments to their fundamental shape, Loewe was able to achieve novelty through subtle details such as texture, draping, and proportion rather than gimmicks.

At a time when we are so fixated on the future, creative director Jonathan Anderson uses reductionism to reflect on the past. Like blank canvases, the white dresses afford him the space to transform memories into art that is both current and forward-looking. After all, for Anderson, “That’s the beauty of fashion[:] that you can revisit, reinterpret, reengineer.”

LỰU ĐΑ̣Ν Continues Bruce Lee’s Legacy Through New Collaboration

LỰU ĐΑ̣Ν has unveiled a collaboration with Bruce Lee Enterprises, released in conjunction with AAPI Heritage Month and the brand’s tenth collection, All Bets Are Off. Long positioned as a foundational influence for founder Hung La, Bruce Lee’s image, philosophy, and self-determined approach to identity have remained embedded within the brand since its inception. Drawing from Lee’s athletic uniforms, 1970s tailoring, and iconic film imagery, the collection merges LỰU ĐΑ̣Ν’s darker visual language with the unmistakable style of the martial arts legend. Key pieces include a reworked version of Lee’s yellow jumpsuit, graphic ringer tees, and accessories informed by archival film materials.

Rather than recreating Bruce Lee through casting, the campaign works directly with his original image archive, using AI-assisted digital manipulation and retouching to place the collection onto Lee himself, collapsing past and present into a new visual interpretation. What emerges is less a retrospective than a continuation, positioning Bruce Lee not simply as inspiration, but as an enduring framework for self-definition, resistance, and image-making within the world of LỰU ĐΑ̣Ν.
