Louis Vuitton SS22 Men’s Collection

Louis Vuitton, and artistic director, Virgil Abloh presented a new collection via a short film titled “Amen Break." The film, directed by Mahfuz Sultan, was a dramatized samurai tale incorporating an array of guest stars.

The 16-minute creative depiction was loosely based on the storyline of the life of Lupe Fiasco, whose father taught and encouraged the mastery of martial arts as a way of learning discipline. With a soundtrack hand-picked by musical director Benji B, an eery, suspenseful tone is cast upon the film — but the horror movie-esque setting is directly juxtaposed with vibrant, jewel-toned pieces. The comfort we have known for the last year meets formal wear in this unique collection, as Abloh presents olive green, red, and cerulean blue blazers, bomber jackets, and kilts in contrast with tracksuits and hoodies in the first half of the presentation.

The latter half of the collection brings neon pink, purple, and green fur coats, two piece suits, and puffer jackets. Outlandish patterns grace these garments — such as plaid and ombré — but the classic Damier pattern is still identifiable on many pieces. Abloh even unveiled never-before-seen LV x Air Force 1 models and a multitude of leather accessories.

As always, Abloh brings skilled artistry to the table, providing not only a slew of differing looks, but a performance. The SS22 collection can be viewed below.

Starting off December on the right foot, Jordan Brand teamed up with cultural visionary Téla to create a fresh addition to its brand. As a co-founder of Who Decides War, Téla is constantly focused on finding innovative ways to blend luxury and streetwear. The Jordan Brand Flight Court x Téla pulls inspiration from skateboarding and basketball as well, resulting in a shoe meant for any occasion.

With its debut on December 5th, the collaboration is marked by its mix of Jumpman DNA and distressed elements. Who Decides War’s signature darning technique can be seen throughout the black, Off Noir, and Varsity Red shoe. You can even choose which logo to display while wearing them, enhancing the convergence of these two worlds.
