If you were around in the 90s, odds are you owned a pair of kicks from Globe. Born in the midst of a DIY counterculture and recently adapted to films such as Jonah Hill’s Mid90s, there’s no doubt that our obsession with this radical era is here for good. Perfect timing for the recent Globe X Dessau Studio collab, a smartly-realized new collection of footwear that office is all about.

Blending together the flyest aspects of the old and the new, Globe re-released their classic chunky-heeled silhouette, adding new colorways such as electric green and leopard print to transform the once strictly skate shoe into an all-encompassing contemporary sneaker brand.

As for the campaign itself, think MTV’s “Ridiculousness” meets 70s pop synth, as the video takes us through a day in the life of a typical skater. VANS Debuts Premium Old Skool Music Collection

Today’s collection is a three-part homage to that legacy. The first drop in this capsule channels early punk and hardcore energy, featuring bold leopard prints and standout solids that echo the original ‘70s and ‘80s colorways. Next, a Warped Tour-inspired drop pops with classic Checkerboard, two tone details, and flame prints that rekindle the Y2K vibe. The last drop features vibrant colorways on gum soles that call back to when underground hip hop took the Old Skool to new places. Each capsule is designed to honor non-conformity and the spirit of pushing boundaries that has defined the Old Skool since its inception.

It’s more than just style. The updated Premium Old Skool Build is engineered with modern materials for a seamless fit, enhanced comfort from 30% biobased Sola Foam ADC insoles, glossy sidewalls, and extra foxing tape. To top it off, throwback branding ties it all together, echoing the details of ’90s-era Vans footwear.

For the collection, Vans tapped into musicians who embody raw emotion and passion through music, including The Paranoyds, Voice of Baceprot, Little Simz and HiTech. These crews shape cultural narratives through their creative endeavors and uplift the “Off The Wall” mindset with the Old Skool on their feet.

Clarks Celebrates 200 Years with a New Brand Film

Clarks is celebrating 200 years of shoemaking with a new film titled From Somerset to the World. Directed by Set Free Richardson and narrated by Yasiin Bey, the film shows how Clarks grew from a small family business in Somerset, England, in 1825 into a world-famous brand.

The film features voices like Ghostface Killah, who says, “Wow, 200 years is crazy… TVs weren’t even out… refrigerators weren’t out.” It also includes memories from music and fashion icons like Liam Gallagher and Martine Rose. These stars share how Clarks shoes have been a part of their lives, from school days to making fashion statements.

The story also travels around the world. From the streets of Jamaica to the styles of Japan, Clarks is shown as a brand that mixes old traditions with new ideas. With its roots in honesty and simplicity, Clarks continues to be a trusted name in footwear.
