The Reinvention of W New York – Union Square

September 08, 2025

W Hotels celebrated the opening of their new global flagship W New York - Union Square, at 201 Park Avenue S, on Friday September 5th. After a $100 million renovation, the newly reimagined hotel stands as a testament to the iconic legacy and evolution of the W Hotels brand. The star studded dinner was held at Seahorse, John McDonald's new seafood restaurant, and was followed by a vibrant cocktail party where Toro y Moi was DJ, at the Living Room. The guest list was a bold mixture of arts, culture and entertainment with many notable stars such as Oscar award winning actress Michelle Williams and singer Moses Sumney being in attendance. This event marks the beginning of a new age for W Hotels, who are part of Marriott Bonvoy's portfolio, where they return to their status as a cultural icon of the city.
