Y/Project FW21
More on the collection, patterns, and genres overlap, especially in the “wrapped” pieces, layers of tulle sewn over costumes. Everything is mixed: the Y/Project collection, the collaboration with Jean Paul Gaultier, and the Evergreen line, launched in 2021, a range of eco-responsible pieces constantly renewed and enriched with new models each season. The colors of the sweaters are bright, the down jackets are very large. Buttoning allows a dress with thin straps to take on a classic or saucy shape. As for the "Peel Off" pieces, you can remove layers and transform the silhouette. For example, a denim jacket becomes a crop top.
For the first time, logos appear, inscribed on a clip that deconstructs the garment. Another innovation: a shape of trousers, the Banana, with a rounded cut. As for the shoes, we find the emblematic models of Y/Project, in particular the Lobster pumps, with toes in the shape of crustacean claws. And earrings are metallic flowers with adjustable pedals. As Glenn Martens sums it up: “Why not have fun?”
On January 26th, Glenn Martens will unveil a collection for luxury fashion house, Jean Paul Gaultier. This link will continue with a collaboration between Y/Project and the ready-to-wear line named after the french couturier.
