An All-Star Weekend with Jordan Brand

Where were you this weekend? Well, office was all over the Windy City. We dove headfirst into the WNBA All-Star Weekend, luckily, with Jordan Brand to lead the way.

It all kicked off with a launch party at SVRN celebrating the launch of iconic artist Nina Chanel Abney and her multifaceted collaboration with Jordan, featuring an undenyably fresh pair of Air Jordan 2's, and a campaign with legendary photographer Shaniqwa Jarvis. The brands' in forum women's collective debuted the 11-piece collection— which was already sold out by the time we arrived at the star-studded event.

From there, we went behind-the-scenes with a couple Jordan athletes for their WNBA Orange Carpet fittings— linking with our old friends from New York, Kim Shui and Vaquera, who had collaborated with Isabelle Harrison of the Dallas Wings and Arella Guirantes, respectively, on their looks for the evening.

We got the chance to ask none other than Jasmine Jordan herself about the impact of Jordan Brand’s presence at ASW, to which the industry icon astutely replied, "We showed up throughout the weekend, and not just for one day or with one event. Our athletes asked us, as a brand, to show up and we kept our word. Our athletes felt supported and appreciated. We are a Jordan Family and we always want our athletes to know we hear them — and we aim to go above and beyond for them. It is only the beginning, as we will continue to show up for them and make the WNBA All-Star Weekend a premier event."

Alongside the likes of league legends Sue Bird and Candace Parker, Harrison and Guirantes' bold, couture-infused fits caused a stir on the carpet, solidifying the fact that the WNBA is as much a destination for forward-thinking as the NBA or even fashion week.

And let's not forget to mention the events that followed— to cap off the festivities and further lift all of our spirits before the big game, Jordan threw an unforgettable party for their friends, family, and athletes— and office was honored to secure one of the coveted invites.

office x The Ground: World Cup Party

In the spirit of this event, a chance to reconnect with our beautiful global community and celebrate football, office held a World Cup party at the Downtown hub for all things football, the Ground.

With delicious Kiki's grilled meat and a cold beer in hand, alongside friends and creative community members we all huddled around the fire pit, played the beloved EA Sports game FIFA on the indoor pitch while projections of previous World Cup highlights got us excited for what these next weeks would bring.

Worlds Collide: Vaquera and the WNBA

During WNBA All-Star Weekend in Chicago, player Arella Guirantes caused a stir on the Orange Carpet, wowing sports and fashion fans alike with a three-dimensional collaboration between herself, Jordan Brand, and Vaquera, the subversive downtown brand by designers Patric Dicaprio and Bryn Taubensee.

On the heels of this major moment, office caught up with Guirantes and Vaquera in the player’s hometown of Bellport, Long Island, to get a peek at the next chapter of their collaboration.

Each look has honed in on the oversized, edgy, textural aesthetic the brand has become known for, a complement and chic contrast to the sleek silhouettes seen in the Jordan Brand pieces. And to pair with Guirantes, an avid lover of superheroes, and supervillains, couldn’t be more perfect a path for Vaquera, who’s penchant for playing with fantasy as a theme is pushed to new heights.

Peter Koytroulis, Senior Design Director for Men’s and Special Projects at Jordan Brand, touches on the story behind this collaboration, “The Vaquera team was inspired by Arella’s desire and willingness to embrace her alter egos. We, as designers, know that the right piece of apparel can evoke emotions and this capacity for transformation is rarely talked about. Our goal as designers is to create apparel that has the ability to transform and perform on and off the court, we want our designs to be a tool for the wearer to reach for in any arena with confidence.”

The collection, launching across NOCTA.com and Nike.com, includes everything from an engineered-knit jersey, a fitted short, and a single-leg compression tight, to player accessories like socks, arm sleeves and headbands.
