Bjarne Melgaard's casual pleasure of disappointment

Melgaard gave away $500,000 worth of his designer wardrobe, including vintage pieces from Comme des Garçons, Eckhaus Latta, HUF, Issey Miyake, Jeremy Scott, Lanvin, Margiela, Raf Simons, Stussy, Supreme, Telfar, and Yohji Yamamoto. They were given out on a first-come, first-serve basis, and we have literally never seen such a line. It was like a Supreme drop times a million (perhaps its comparable to the scene at the Kylie Jenner pop-up).

There was an actual mob stretching all the way across 18th street, and it even snaked three more blocks down 7th Avenue. People were allowed in for fifteen minutes at a time, rapidly shoving everything they could into Melgaard-branded plastic bags. As the press release read, "Get ready for disappointment, too. NO GUARANTEES. NO RETURNS. NO LOVE."
