MCM x BAPE Celebrate the Year of the Dragon
Whether superstitious or not, this year is said one of good fortune, maybe the perfect time to update your wardrobe. The collection consists of MCM’s most popular accessories — including the Boston, the Weekender, the North-South Tote and the handheld Pouch — emblazoned with a first-time, transparent edition of BAPE’s renowned camo pattern, debossed in gold over the Visetos in Cognac & Black. The Shark Hoodie finds new life too, with a redesign in Black & Cognac Visetos.
Sabine Brunner, MCM’s President and Brand & Commercial Officer, feels that both brands seamlessly complement one another, “MCM finding a renaissance in the New York hip-hop community of the ‘80s, and BAPE coming of age during the explosion of Tokyo’s Harajuku scene in the ’90s.” Thomas Hui, Chief Operating Officer of BAPE, seemed to echo the sentiment saying that the collaboration “merges the best of both worlds.”
