VRTUE: Capsule One

This month, the avant-garde concept project marks its debut, taking over Melrose Botanical Garden with a weekend (October 25–27) of immersive sculpture, sonic rituals, and shopping. Rooted in esoteric knowledge and ancient practices, VRTUE channels this well of wisdom into a philosophy of reality realignment, offering a space where transformation feels palpable.

Ottolinger's SS25 collection emerged through the jaws of a giant shark, with the show's pulse driven by the debut soundtrack from WENCH, a new project by ARCA and Shayne Oliver.

Embracing a distinctly avant-garde aquatic sensibility, designers Christa Bösch and Cosima Gadient also debuted OTTONYMOUS, an eyewear collection marking the first in an ongoing collaboration with the underground heavyweight and Anonymous.club designer. Each model embodied "the shark drifting between cities... dorsal fin splitting the world like an oyster," with visors borrowing their slick, monochromatic shapes from previous Shayne Oliver Group designs and bombshell swimwear rendered in bold Ottolinger colorways, captured here by photographer Jacqueline Landvik.

"In the small hours when the world sleeps, it is a voice message sent from an empty airport. Mine is a body in transit, intimately dressed in yesterday's party and tomorrow's new beginnings; never too early or too late. From chrome meeting rooms to remote beaches, I am timeless and beyond time, diving neoprene into the darkness of a deep blue sea, surfacing among the turquoise whirlpools and discarded cocktail umbrellas of an infinity pool."
