Celine Gets An Update
According to the brand's Instagram, the accent has been removed "to enable a simplified and more balance proportion." The '60s also saw Celine branded as Celine Paris—something the house will reintroduce on their tags and packaging.
Along with the new, revamped logo, we also got our first look at Slimane's vision for Celine. In posters around New York City, the brand reavealed their latest campaign—a black-and-white portraits (Slimane's signature style) of a back-facing model in a sequined leather jacket. The other image is of a gold lamé curtain—or maybe skirt?—that looks straight out of the Celine archives.
Though the imagery doesn't reveal too much, we did get another sneak peek of the upcoming collection when Lady Gaga accidentally shared an image of her carrying one of Slimane's new bags while posing on the balcony of her Paris hotel room, and browsing at The Louvre. But since Slimane has remained totally tight-lipped about his upcoming collection, it looks like we'll have to wait until Paris Fashion Week to see what direction he'll take for the brand. But of course, we'll miss Phoebe Philo—and that é.
