Couple's Retreat

Like everybody else, artists are enduring the universal crisis of the Coronavirus; at the same time, they use their days to express themselves while self-isolating. In Frausto’s own words, “Cooped-up couples take up new hobbies, sit together in silence, argue; they make it a stay-cation and relax in the sun or the bath. This is a transformative self-portrait series which sees ourselves transposed into each new pair of romantic characters, with a focus on hair and beauty looks. The images have a nostalgic tone, pulling inspiration from different eras, to comically comment on our contemporary predicament.”
