Dolce & Gabbana FW22: Two Worlds, One Metaverse

If you aren’t bombarded with talk of expanding cyber universes and NFT’s on the daily, you might as well be living on Mars – which doesn’t seem so far-fetched nowadays anyways. In our ever-evolving world of virtual realities and space exploration, software isn't the only thing that needs an update. It’s time to advance your wardrobe to embody an existence soon shared with robots and aliens. Dolce & Gabbana’s new menswear collection celebrates the segway into a more virtual future with an art form as old as time.

Two worlds combine in D&G’s Fall/Winter 22-23 show, meshing the intertwining spheres of music and the metaverse. Models strut in ultramodern outfits to techno-beats from an exclusive performance by Machine Gun Kelly – with fiancé Megan Fox sitting front row. From reconstructed proportions, geometric lines, and innovative fabrics, each look is what you would imagine someone in the age of self-driving cars and brain chip implants to wear.

This futuristic fantasy comes to life in the form of oversized garments, personalized prints, and cyber-inspired accessories. Coats, jackets, and tuxedos are reworked with an emphasis on shoulders. Black & white logomania and colorful graffiti prints are plastered throughout the collection. To complete each look, new sneakers, bags, hats, and eyewear were imagined with the metaverse in mind.

When Rihanna and Puma team up you know that the finished product is going to be something that is sleek, fashion-forward, and undoubtedly sought after by every downtown it-girl. office tapped into the city’s coolest in an exclusive editorial on how we’d rock the Avanti LS. Reimagining the bold sneaker and juxtaposing it against Brooklyn’s city scape, we play into warm furs and striking fishnets all set against the newly iconic bright blue of the shoe. Levi’s Goes UNDERCOVER

The collection includes nine pieces that draw inspiration from both brands’ rich histories, with reimagined jeans, T-shirts, and trucker jackets which reference UNDERCOVER’s “Exchange” program from its 1998 AW collection and feature embroidered zigzag patterns inspired by their 2003 archives. The Levi’s x UNDERCOVER collection will be available worldwide on January 18th, through Levi.com, the Levi’s App, select Levi’s stores, undercoverism.com, and select UNDERCOVER locations.
