Fame Hunter: luxe rebellion in ripped tights

When did you realize this band was making it out of the Adidas Campaign?
Heva Vaupel: We started getting bookings after our first show at the launch party for the Adidas Campaign last summer, and at that point we met for drinks and a “serious talk” about whether or not to continue the project.
Siggy Sonne: Yeah we had the meeting. We talked about our different roles and positions in the project and agreed on it.
Describe the EP in 3 words or less.
HV: Messy heart.
SS: Magical, rough, turquoise.
Did anything interesting happen at the release party?
HV: I was very overwhelmed and everything was like a blur. But the vibe was really buzzing, and it was so fab that people turned up for a party on a Wednesday in Copenhagen. Lots of stylish young people I had never seen before. And I really loved True Blue’s concert.
SS: We dressed the room in shiny silver curtains and gave the stage a skirt! It ended up looking really good so I was very excited about that.
Did you get up to anything after?
HV: We went to the classic cursed and blessed late night pub Amigo Bar and kept the party going until they closed. We missed Siggy a lot though.
SS: I went to Paris.

You’ve described your sound as the “sonic equivalent of smudged eyeliner and cigarette smoke,” tell me more…
HV: It’s the perfect image to describe our sound - arriving at the party in heels with fucked up make-up while chain smoking cigarettes. Maybe a bit hungover, maybe a bit heartbroken and ready to lose yourself in the smoke, the music, and the crowd.
SS: It's hours deep into your night out…your look is totally fucked after all the hours of dancing and being glamourous. You're a bit sad & everything is faded, but you're still serving. That describes our sound to me.
Are you real?
HV: Everything is real.
SS: Who knows!
What are some of your favorite lyrics from the EP?
HV: The chorus from Sugar Violence I think: “I suffocate / But don’t worry / Be my disgrace / Baby, please / Don’t hesitate / Sugar violence / Be my mistake / I’ll be your idol.”
Or the last part of the verse from Nothing Left: “Leaving you with it / Don’t abuse it / Selling old dreams / ‘Cause I’m on some new shit / It’s your time baby / To feel it all / You heard it on the news / ‘Cause you missed my call.”
SS: “Fluid bodies staged in a ghost town scene” from the second verse in Disappear.
Where does your fashion inspiration come from?
HV: Vampire movies, the video game Bloodborne and anything Victorian.
SS: Everywhere. Magazines, movies, interior, Music, the street. BUT rich old ladies is the ultimate inspo

What are the do’s and don’ts for this era of Fame Hunter?
HV: All do’s, zero don'ts.
SS: Exactly.
When you were making the EP, what was it like working together? How did you collaborate on the album?
HV: We had a lotttt of fun in the studio with producer Mads Bergland, basically just saying yes to any idea we had. Very high energy and then all of sudden you have a finished track. I loved making our different aesthetics and tastes merge and intertwine.
SS: My favorite part of making the EP was being in the studio and sharing songs we individually love with each other, and just talking about music and pop culture in general.
If there was a Fame Hunter Planet, what would it be like?
HV: It would be a lot of fun I think. A place to be whoever you are without judgment. And lots of sex, drugs and rock n’ roll.
SS: Totally fab. It would look like a mix of Chateau Marmont and Costes. Everyone would be dressed to the nines and you could be as loud as you wanted.
