The Fashion Lover’s Encyclopedia: Maripedia

The company was created by Armi Ratia in 1951, with creative printmaking at the forefront of her vision. Since then, Marimekko has dished out over 3,500 different prints. “Our brand’s core is the art of printmaking, and therefore it feels especially meaningful to invite our community to discover the fantastic complexity of our prints in this new, interactive way,” says Marimekko Design Director in Home & Print Design, Minna Kemell-Kutvonen.

 

You can even insert yourself into the world of Marimekko by taking a photo of any of the brand’s physical prints, and the database will locate the print using an AI-powered image search feature. Marimekko is defying boundaries in the fashion industry through their ingenious imagery but is now also serving as an important bridge between the worlds of art, fashion, and technology.

 

Maripedia is set to launch November 17th on www.marimekko.com.
