Balenciaga F/W '19

Designer Demma Gvasalia returned this season with his latest collection at Balenciaga. Choosing to play to the strengths of classically understanded pieces such as knitwear, overcoats and slacks, the collection may have seemed more subtle than the dramatized brand we’ve come to know and love. However, nothing was quite as it seemed at Balenciaga’s F/W ‘19 presentation.

Bright pink double-sleeved button downs, checkered acid washed jeans and those Matrix-style sunglasses all worked together to take credit for our double-take this season. Of course, it wouldn't be Balenciaga without some type of proportion play—tailored overcoats with a ridged backed along the shoulders as well as turtlenecks which snuck up and over the face gave us that unconventional, yet must-have excitement that could only be attributed to Demna Gvasalia. And don't forget the oversized shoulders.

Overall, the collection wasn't exactly groundbreaking—but it didn't need to be. It was Balenciaga. And that's more than enough for office.

Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 25 Menswear by Pharrell Williams

Louis Vuitton takes us on a journey that embarks on a cross-continental cruise from Paris to Miami, seeing the journey as the destination. From cast-off, through the voyage to the formal arrival this collection traces the recreational routes of the dandy dressing core to the House Men's proposal through a contemporary lens. For the modern traveler who vacations via yacht and sports car, respects tradition, as well as the evolution of dress codes.

In its transition across the sea, it illustrates the LVERS philosophy at the heart of the Louis Vuitton Studio Prêt-à-Porter Homme binding together its values and global community from Paris to Miami and everywhere in between. Through these chapters, we explore Dandy downtime, The voyage and The destination.

The Cruise to Resort adapts dandy's voyage from the sea to the sand, saluting tailoring and classic sportswear through the transit wardrobe. In the second chapter, the arrival wardrobe gets ready for the beach and pool culture that Miami is known for. Taking inspiration from naval codes and the textures of plush ship's interiors, Jazz Age silhouettes are revitalised within this collection.
