Backstage 3D Scans at Berlin Fashion Week

Could we be looking at the future of capturing fashion? Mara Rudnick focuses on beauty details like hair, makeup and accessories within these 3D scans, removing the models and the garments from the usual runway context.

Rudnick did this by capturing form and texture through fragments rather than complete forms. After the scanning process she selected specific angles and frames to turn into still images. These fragments are essential for reflecting how fashion shapes identity, and how perception shifts between the digital and physical space.

These final results exist somewhere between a digital rendering and a memory. Questioning how this digital process re-shapes our view on the physical, making shifts within the everyday.

Magnetic Connection

Meet R_DOLL by Regina Demina, who made her debut at Magnet Portal, VVUTURA's spatial installation in collaboration with AGF HYDRA. Following the launch of MAGNET COLLECTION 001, the installation extends VVUTURA’s exploration of the body through latex membranes, wellbeing, industrial structures, and sculptural interventions. The event was activated by Demina through breathwork mediation, in which afterwards she was replaced with R_DOLL, a sculptural replica of herself, transforming living presence into artifact. The figure is adorned in PVC magnet garments with delicate lilies piercing through her leather clothes and plastic body, draping over her synthetic skin. R_DOLL is a body suspended between activation and collapse, fantasy and memory, object and soul. The doll becomes a meditation on the female body as a vessel and surface.

Flowers - a recurring motif in VVUTURA's work - appear here not as decoration, but as evidence of the persevering survival of softness within controlling and restraining systems; blooming despite being in an environment with no supporting growth factors. The colorful and lively burst against a stale fallen figure and stark white walls spurs conversation on emotional polarity. Magnets are a metaphor for this polarity, embedded into the garments to represent how clothes cling, restrain, and connect the body, directing the emotional architecture of modern desire. The invisible forces - attraction, repulsion, dependency, intimacy - that dictate how bodies move toward or away from one another.

The industrial space barely scattered with life becomes a limbo between romance and alienation. The female figure is on display, yet she cannot return the viewer’s gaze. She remains silent, still, gaze and body glued to the ground. Her avoidant form is confrontational. The synthetic doll reflects contemporary intimacy: romanticized, projected onto, endlessly reconstructed, desperately searching for sincerity beneath performance.
