NUSKI2SQUAD, Inspiration to Myself
After breaking into the rap game in late 2019, he's gained half a million hits on YouTube for his single “You Gone See.” And for the first time, the Florida rap star Yungeen Ace has teamed up with NUSKI2SQUAD for a new video “Millions.”
Take a chance to introduce yourself.
I’m Rayne Stewart, a fifteen-year-old music artist from St. Louis, Missouri, who goes by the name of NUSKI2SQUAD.
How are you living these days?
I’m doing alright, focusing on perfecting my craft and building my fan base. Bettering myself and those around me
The face mask has been a central part of your look lately, have you been keeping inside?
The face mask started from me being in the streets. I started wearing them around four or five years ag. Not exactly to hide my face, but I feel as if it keeps me safe. Yes, I have been keeping inside but not because of the virus. There is just no need to go anywhere except the studio.
What’s quarantine life been like in St. Louis?
Normal life except you having to wear a mask everywhere you go.
How’s it feel to be repping St. Louis?
It’s a great feeling knowing where I come from. There is very little light shined upon the city and the up and coming artists in it.
Are there any other St. Louis rappers that you’ve been looking up to?
None that I’ve actually looked up to, but I grew up listening to a lot of artist out the city like 3 problems, King B, and Vega Sills.
Who are your biggest inspirations?
My biggest inspirations are my father and myself. In the music industry, Maine Musik and Y.B.
How’d it feel to have a spot with Yungeen Ace?
Unreal and honoring like everything else I have accomplished this year.
If you could feature with any other artists who would they be?
NBA YOUNGBOY and Lil Baby.
On “You Wasn’t There,” you talk about wishing you were older, but at 15 you’re already racking up millions of hits. Do you feel old or do you think you have more growing to do?
That has always been a feeling of wanting to do things like get a job or any other legal way to provide for myself but being too young to do so. Despite my doing everything under the sun, I feel old now because fifteen just doesn’t sound young anymore. But other than that I know I have a lot more growing and learning to do. As of right now, I’m enjoying my teen life as much as possible but more so putting business before everything.
