In developing the collection, guidelines were established to challenge the artists through clever limitations. The constraints meant that they could only pull inspiration from one location at a time while working exclusively with local photographers, artists, and brands. The exercise goes even further as only hometown models were considered in the casting process and any vintage must be sourced from there as well. All of these factors lead to a collection that gets deep into the character of a place while showcasing the artists living within it as well.
Sperry x Colbo Return for Third Boat Shoe Collaboration
The three-shoe capsule introduces new material treatments, including Italian jute, linen, and distressed leather, emphasizing texture, natural aging, and everyday wear. Rather than reinventing the iconic design, the collaboration focuses on subtle refinements that allow the shoes to develop character over time. Accompanying the release is a campaign photographed by Lucia Bell-Epstein, Austin Calvello, and Marina Coenen, capturing the collection through intimate, sun-soaked scenes that evoke the feeling of found summer memories. For the first time, the collaboration will also be offered in extended sizing, expanding accessibility across a wider range of wearers.
