Shopping is a Feeling at Lucky Jewel
The collective's creative principals, Shay Gallagher, Olive Woodward and Lola Dement Myers, who have long been devoted to the sentimental power of objects, now have a physical setting through which to cultivate the mantra that "shopping is a feeling."
What started as a project in Chicago in 2018 grew into Lucky Jewel, a platform known for its curated pop-up shopping installations and group shows showcasing local and non-local artists and makers who share in the belief that objects carry a sentimental power.
Through the store, shopping is solidified as a practice that centers emotional exchange and collaborative experience over commerce. Shay, Olive and Lola constructed and touched everything in the 1,000 square foot space, from the hangers to the dressing rooms to the 50+ stockists on display. The physical setting has no fixed identity enabling it to evolve organically and morph into whatever the collective and its community needs, whether that be a gallery, a showroom, a place to rendezvous, or a home.
If you've been yearning for a new place to shop that transcends the ordinary retail experience, this is definitely it.
