Photographer Jackson Bowley and makeup artist Grace Ellington are back, this time with a new editorial that explores the relationship—and limits—between an artist and their craft; the subject and their beauty.

As an artist, Bowley mostly shoots clean, natural photos; Ellington also likes to stick with bright, dewy makeup; and as a model, Akuac often gets photographed sans makeup, her dark, glowing skin the focal point for any beauty shoot.

For this series, however, Bowley uses heavy flash, overexposing his images to create a rougher, more radical feel to match Ellington's bold, glittery looks.

The result is a fiery editorial in which the photographer, makeup artist and model all test their own boundaries.
